California Grizzlies Looking to Call Anaheim Home
Anaheim, CA.
Today marks a special day for a new chapter of California hockey as the California Grizzlies prepare for their upcoming inaugural season in 2024-25. With the explosive growth of the game hitting the west coast, USA hockey registrations have skyrocketed as more and more communities crave the sport of hockey. Of all the affluent cities and towns in the western United States, few are more deserving than that of Anaheim, CA. From a bustling economy to a thriving youth hockey scene, the California Grizzlies look to create a lasting impression in the greater Orange County region for many seasons to come.
Donning the colors of brown and orange, the California Grizzlies chose the grizzly bear to represent and embody the spirit of the team since California's state animal is a grizzly bear. Looking to play all home games at a former NHL practice facility--The Rinks, the Grizzlies color scheme was carefully assembled so that the brown would resemble that of a grizzly's brown fur while the orange acts as an accent color that pays homage to the National Hockey League's Anaheim Ducks. The California Grizzlies strive to promote the growth of the sport of hockey and perpetuate all arising opportunities from the organization to the community of Irvine.
The Grizzlies schedule will comprise of competitive series contests against other elite semi-professional teams from California, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Texas and Idaho showcasing the best single A talent of the western region of the United States. In addition to these highly competitive match-ups, The Grizzlies will also be looking to host a couple of theme night games as well as a couple featured opponent contests where The Grizzlies will suit up against teams assembled from local fire and police departments. The team will also be participating in many community events as it looks to ally with cornerstone businesses and organizations of Anaheim and the surrounding Orange County.
